If you seek a budget hotel in the Flores area and

Santa Elena, Peten. Santa Elena is near Flores and a
short ride (or long walk) from the international airport that serves Tikal.
The Jaguar Inn of Santa Elena is owned and operated
by the same Solis family as the Jaguar Inn within the Tikal National Park.
The main difference is that the Jaguar Inn of Santa Elena is about half
the cost ($15 for a room). The hotel has a restaurant.
The Jaguar Inn has a parking lot, something not
available at any of the hotels on the overcrowded island of Flores itself.
If you need to leave your luggage while you visit
Tikal, the Solis family has been in the hotel business for decades and
it is in their interest to continue to provide a safe place for you, and
for your left luggage.
The Jaguar Inn has private bath and is clean. The
hotel is well maintained.
